Monthly Archives: December 2009

This past weekend, December 4th, 5th and 6th their was a Offense and Defense National Championship Qualifying Tournament in Argyle, TX  in which my son’s team the Keller Warriors participated in.

The Warriors did not play on the first night, instead they played their first game on Saturday the 5th. The first game was a blowout as they defeated the McKinney Titans by a score of 49-0!! The Warrior boys just played tremendous football out there on the field. For them to go out and play the way they did in freezing weather was amazing. The Titans could move the ball at all on the Warriors defense, they might have made one first down but I do not believe they did.

For the second game of the day which was played at 9:00pm, when the temperature was even more unbearable, the Warriors went on the field to play against the Red River Renegades from Quanah, TX. This team was no match for the Warriors as they blew them out 38-0!!! The Renegades did have one player that would never give up and that was their runningback #5. He was scrappy and little but fought for everything he got.

On Sunday the 6th, it was Championship time. The Keller Warriors were facing the Houston Saints for the tournament championship. The Saints had a very big team, some very good sized players. From everything we heard we were going to be in for a fight. Well not so much, the Warriors walked out on the field and the game was over. The just held the Saints in check the whole game and ended up winning the Championship with a score of 20-0. I was a bit disgusted by the play of some of the Saints players as they continued to try and fight our players through the whole game. I mean they would literally punch the Warrior players as they would tackle them, they would deliver multiple late hits and then talk trash to the players. The coaches seemed to be just like the dirty players so I can only say “You set an example for the players to follow and they follow your lead”. Some one needs to talk to the coaches of that team.

It was a great weekend of football as I watched my son and his team win the Championship. Now that they won the championship they are invited to go to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to play for the National Title against teams from all over the nation!!!!

I hope they win the National!!! Good luck to my son and all of the Warrior players and coaches, hope you guys go to South Carolina and show them what real football is!!!!
